Here's how the year unfolded.

In the summer of 2017, ARYSE organized PRYSE Academy for the 5th year in a row. Thanks to our small, committed group of volunteer staff, funding partners, directors, and a fierce community of supporters, it was the most fun and successful year to date! We couldn’t have done it without you. Our enrollment doubled in 2017 -- we welcomed over 60 youth to participate in PRYSE Academy.

A handful of students returned to PRYSE for their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th summers as peer mentors for the majority of our participants, who were new to the country and our programs. For two students, PRYSE Academy was their first formal educational experience in the U.S. Thanks to our community’s support, we’re on track to welcome 100 students to PRYSE Academy in 2018.

"In PRYSE, I learned to empathize by making new friends, helping, and being more open-minded. It was unforgettable. I intend to go back next summer." - Lorraine

We asked our students about their academic and socioemotional outcomes at the end of PRYSE Academy - here is how they replied.

ARYSE provided surveys to each student to get feedback about their
experience in the program. 41 out of 60 students filled out the survey.
